Early Life and Education

Jackie Chan was born in 1954 in Victoria Peak, Hong Kong. He was the son of Charles and Lee-Lee Chan. His parents were refugees from the Chinese Civil War, and they named him Chan Kong-sang, which means “born in Hong Kong.” As a child, Chan was sent to the China Drama Academy, a Peking Opera school, where he trained in martial arts and acrobatics.
